July16We are continuing with the scrapbooking theme this week at club, and the make and take will be using inking techniques on your scrapbook page.

We will transform a plain sheet of card using a mixture of masks, inks and paints and a little doodling to make it into a fab scrapbooking page.

This page has been created using five different masks and a mix of Distress Inks and Distress paints.

It is definitely a technique you have to see through to the end.  In the in-between stages it can look very messy and as if it is never going to work, but as you build up the layers of the patterns and ink, it all comes together!

I would suggest cutting yourself a plain piece of card to act as a mask for your photo and mount, so you don’t have to keep handling your photo with inky fingers.  You can then July16ause your scrap mask to keep positioning back onto your scrapbook page so you can see what areas you will be able to see and decide where you need more shading and patterns.

It’s a fun technique to try!  I challenge yJuly16bou to create a scrapbook page using only one colour card mount for your photo and the rest of your decoration all inking, masks and perhaps a little stamping – see what you can create!

don’t forget that there is still time to enter our draw for a pack of crafting goodies – simply go to post number 200 and comment to enter!

and if you would like to join us at craft club to have a go at this yourself.. it’s this Friday 6.15-8.30 at Francis Rooms next to Connaught Hall in Attleborough.  £3.50 on the night and if you want to join in with the make & take the workshop charge is just £3.

happy crafting
