I’ve used this stamp quite a lot – its Woodware’s Zentangle Butterfly. I like it because it has lots of detail to it but also it is a good size butterfly to make a nice focal point. I made this piece quite a while back in one of my workshops and as I’m having a chill-out Sunday I thought I would retrieve this one from my archive! (more…)
Today’s project is again using linen cardstock. I sprayed the background when cleaning out my misters from last week’s projects – spraying what was left in the spray to clean out my rich gold, aqua lagoon and golden mint and when they mix together you get this lovely green shade.
While still damp, I applied the Love Post Mask and Dreamweaver white embossing paste.. By applying it when damp, some of the colour seeps into the paste to soften the white starkness against the green
Once dry, I added a fineliner border and stamped a few circles on the Background from the IndigoBlu Boadicea set – and the wording comes from that set too.
The dies were cut from a jade piece of card using Crafty Individuals Gilded Cage and Sweet Flying Bird dies. I then tinted them with Distress Ink Walnut Stain and sprayed with water to intensify the colour. They were still a little pale, so I dabbed them with archival black and the end result was quite an interesting patina style finish!
Back to simple elegant today. The background of my card has been embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder – a damask type pattern.
I’ve used two shades of blue Bazzil cardstock to cut out my mouns from a Spellbinders Labels set. (more…)
Lots of colour today. I started with a linen finish piece of white cardstock and then applied ink from my Kaleidacolour Bouquet inkpad using a Brayer. (more…)
What… no inks…no stamps….that’s not like you Jane! Something different from my usual style today as I rediscovered my pack of toned Bazzill cardstock and fancied getting creative with them. (more…)
I’m back again with the same stamp set and colour palette as yesterday, but today working onto a linen card. Its always interesting to see how the cardstock changes the effect and colours of your inks and paints. I’ve spritzed the card with Cosmic Shimmer Misters – Rich Gold, Golden Mint and Aqua Lagoon, but kept a lighter touch as I wanted to make the most of the textured surface of the cardstock. Next I laid my Love Post mask over and sprayed again in the aqua. (more…)
Today’s creation starts with a piece of glossy cardstock.
I’ve sprayed it with Cosmic Shimmer Ink Misters – Rich Gold, Golden Mint and Aqua Lagoon. I then dried it with a heat gun. By using it onto glossy cardstock the mica pools and makes it extra shimmery! (more…)
I love working in white on white and its been ages since I’ve created a piece. So this week I decided to sit down and rustle up a three dimensional project.
I started by cutting an oval with my nestabilities from Spellbinder and running it through a polka dot embossing folder. (more…)
I had a fabulous workshop this week teaching 5 enthusiastic ladies on how to create Faux Leather from craft card as per Sheena Douglas’ fabulous technique. We had such a fun evening! The workdesk was covered in Distress Inks, Kraft Card and Embossing Folders! We all worked on an A6 piece of card so we had plenty of chances to try out different designs. (more…)
I’ve had a delivery of fabulous Tattered Lace Christmas dies this week – and couldn’t resist some of them!
I’ve created my tag by using Fired Brick and Festive Berries Distress ink to colour the background. I then cut out the mini holly die and used as a mask with Pumice stone to add some holly leaves to the background and then splattered with water to add some interest. (more…)
