I had a fabulous workshop this week teaching 5 enthusiastic ladies on how to create Faux Leather from craft card as per Sheena Douglas’ fabulous technique. We had such a fun evening! The workdesk was covered in Distress Inks, Kraft Card and Embossing Folders! We all worked on an A6 piece of card so we had plenty of chances to try out different designs.
We also experimented with the same technique with white card too! As ever I was amazed with the variety that everyone created from the same sets of inks and folders to choose from.
An extra bonus we discovered that working with the damp cardstock meant that if you apply Distress Inks directly to your embossing folder, the dampness activates the ink, giving it a much more consistent application. I’ve reserved my piece I created to show you later in the week, when I use it in a project!
If you fancy joining in with one of our fun workshops, the new list of papercrafting workshops is now live on the website with pictures of all the types of projects you will create. (Jewellery workshops will appear shortly!) They are all suitable for any level of crafter because as you see we only have a small group at a time so I can get beginners started with a bit more help whilst those more advanced can practice the technique.

With thanks to Gillian (I can’t believe I don’t have a picture of your green & yellow paisley piece!!), Sarah, Vera, Denise and Jane for allowing me to share our evening with everyone on the blog.
