It was my very good friend’s birthday yesterday so I needed to create a very special card. As Sarah loves her birdcages I thought I would create a card using the free set of stamps I got earlier this year from my Creative Stamping mag.
I started by die cutting an oval with my Spellbinders die and stamping my birdcage and bird, and drew on the chain. I then used the ‘waste’ card I had cut it out of as a template and lightly drew the oval in pencil on my card piece. This was my guide to stamping my oval. I used a long flowery border stamp and worked my way around the oval. Every now and then I placed the oval back over the top so I could see what would peek out behind it.
Next I stamped my row of flowers down the side of my card blank.
Everything has been coloured using Cosmic Shimmer Drawing Inks. It was then mounted onto a hot pink mount to finish it.
I am pleased to say that Sarah loved her card as much as I did!
Happy Crafting – and again happy birthday Sarah!
