Halloween Ribbon Wreath

It has been a couple of days since I last blogged.  I’ve been housebound fending off a rather nasty cough and as they suspect I have whooping cough I’ve had to be considered contagious and keep out of public places!

I’ve felt pretty rough over the past few days – but a bit brighter today so I thought I would find something I could sit on the sofa and create.

I’ve had this idea in my head for a while after seeing some ideas on Pinterest, and as I have had a lovely new delivery of ribbons, it was the ideal opportunity.

I pulled out this yummy stack of ribbons to play with

The first part of the project is to create a ring of greyboard in which to tie your ribbons.  You can used dies if you have them, or simply draw two circles to leave you with a ring.

I started by cutting 2m of the wide orange ribbon and wrapped it around the ring completely.  This means that I didn’t need to worry if I left a gap in my ribbon tying.

Next I started cutting my ribbons – I cut them to around 15cm long and started to tie them around the wring and knot them.  Once the ring was covered, I trimmed back some of the ends so there was a variety of different lengths of ribbon.

An ever-so-easy to do halloween decoration – or just change to different colours to suit your project!

Let me know if you would like to buy this as a kit, I can easily put one together!

happy crafting
