Woodware Love Birds Stamped Canvas

I have another canvas project again for you today.  This is a 5×7″ canvas.  I worked the background using a mixture of antique white, pale beige and a mid brown acrylic paint.  Firstly I painted the whole canvas in the antique white, then I worked a little of the beige shade and finally, using quite a dry brush I added the mid shade brown.  If it starts to get too dark, you can always add some more white.

Once dry, I used texture paste through a mask to add some texture to the corners and once dry, I dry brushed over more paint.

I wasn’t sure how succesful stamping directly onto the canvas would be – but thought I would give it a go as I could always rescue by stamping and paper-piecing if it didn’t work!  However, I stamped with Archival black and most of the image was clear – I just filled in a few light spot with the fineliner.  The stamp is from Woodware – the Love Birds set.  I then painted the bird and the hearts using my pale blue and brown palette.  I also added a little shading with the brown too.

This canvas is for sale for £12 (+P&P) if you would like it on your wall!

Back again soon with another project

happy crafting
