My 350th blog post – no pressure there then! 🙂 I felt it deserved something a little special and I definitely had a big dose of crafting mojo this afternoon and decided it was time I started to add some new artwork into my very neglected journal!
I started by playing with creating a background using Distress Paints – Spun Sugar, Shaded Lilac and Broken China – all lovely and soft colours. I then added some detail using a mix of stencils and colours. Memory Box Heartwood Stencil with Mermaid Lagoon. Words with Gathered Twigs onto the Industrial Andy Skinner Stencil and finally some dots with the same paint through the Crafter;s Workshop Halftone Borders mask (probably the most used mask in my collection!) I also added a few circles of brown using the lid of my paint
Next I stamped the fabulous Stampendous Glance stamp using Black Acrylic Paint and then stamped the butterflies from the Stampendous Butterflies set also with Paint.
Then I painted in her face using spun sugar and a little gathered twigs mixed in to add some shading and coloured her hair. I then painted the butterflies with a mix of Festive Berries, Seedless Preserves and Mermaid Lagoon, blending some to produce some shades in between. Final highlighting from White and black pens was the finishing touch.
I loved creating this piece! I love it when you get a real creative high from enjoying creating!
Hope it inspires you to get creative too.. and if this one doesn’t – don’t forget you have another 349 creative blog posts to browse through and find something to get your crafting mojo going!
