It’s been ages since I’ve done a blog challenge – and the Chocolate Baroque colour challenge caught my eye! So here is the first entry – and I have another one to follow on tomorrow (yes I know.. no blogs for ages then two all at once!)
So I’ve used Distress Paints – Fossilized Amber, Antique Linen, Antique Bronze, Aged Mahogany along with Distress Inks – Fossilized Amber, Aged Mahogany.
I’ve given the tag a base colour with the Amber, Linen and Bronze paints using a brayer. Once dry I used a Tim Holtz mini stencil with the Amber and Mahogany distress inks to apply a little texture to the background and then stamped with Amber onto the Chocolate Baroque Open Weave Stamp. Next I stamped by Chocolate Baroque Peony Stamp in Black archival and the Art word (Chocolate Baroque Artistic Affirmations).
Next was the leafy border – I tried to stamp this in mahogany – but it wasn’t bold enough (probably because my 10 year old ink pad needs re-inking!!!) – so I overstamped using Plum Archival – that was much better! The stamp is from Chocolate Baroque Floral Edges.
I then coloured my Peony using green shades of Koi Brush pens and added a final touch of highlighting with my Sharpie White Poster Paint pen.
If you would like to join me in making a tag like this – we will be doing a colour challenge Chocolate Baroque tag in my next workshop on Thursday 26th May 5-7 at the shop. Contact me to reserve your seat!
Back tomorrow with the next tag for the challenge!
happy crafting
