No Pressure #350

Stampendous StampsMy 350th blog post – no pressure there then! 🙂 I felt it deserved something a little special and I definitely had a big dose of crafting mojo this afternoon and decided it was time I started to add some new artwork into my very neglected journal!

I started by playing with creating a background using Distress Paints – Spun Sugar, Shaded Lilac and Broken China – all lovely and soft colours.  I then added some detail using a mix of stencils and colours.  Memory Box Heartwood Stencil with Mermaid Lagoon.  Words with Gathered Twigs Stampendous Glance Stamponto the Industrial Andy Skinner Stencil and finally some dots with the same paint through the Crafter;s Workshop Halftone Borders mask (probably the most used mask in my collection!)  I also added a few circles of brown using the lid of my paint (more…)

Live Laugh Love (was Post #169)

I am re-sharing this post.  Unfortunately I have had to delete the original as the spambots have got it in their grubby mitts and I’m getting 100 spammy comments a day on it!  yuck yuck!  It’s too nice a project not to be up on my blog – so here’s a little refresher (PS – I’ve got this mask in stock at the moment too!)  Enjoy it all over again!  Jane 🙂

When I saw this mask it was one of those I’ve just got to have it moments!  My current search is for masks with different words on so this really fitted the bill.  It is from Crafter’s Workshop called Mini Live Love Laugh.  I could just see endless possibilities to use the mask as a whole design like I have done here, or to use just individual words on different projects too.

I started by sticking down my mask with a little stencil tape and then began to outline the entire mask with a fineliner pen  (more…)

Oh deer…. #331

Sheena Douglas Stencil Deer

today’s project has been created using the fabulous new stencils from Sheena Douglas.  This one is called Deer and is just lovely!  I started with a Cosmic Shimmer ink mister background and then once dry I worked over the top using Cut n Dry foam and Distress Ink – Black Soot.  I worked very gently and slowly to build up the crisp edge detail so that the definition was not lost.  A simple line dash border was enough to finish this ATC size panel. The Wise Owl #308

Dreamweaver Owl Stencil

I do like this owl.  He’s a stencil from Dreamweaver and is due to arrive in stock hopefully later today.

This was created in the workshop with Woodware.  We applied ink through the stencil using stencil brushes after embossing the owl stencil through the die cutting machine.   (more…)

Boo! #302

Tim Holtz Shatter Stencil

Number two project today.  Once again I started with a Cosmic Shimmer Mister background – this time with Aqua Lagoon and Mango Blaze and using the Tim Holtz Shatter stencil in the background too.  This one was much darker in shade and I thought would work well for my dramatic halloween project.  I placed the stencil on and inked through with Distress Ink Walnut Stain and faded it out towards the edges. Colour Poppy #294

IndigoBlu Poppy Meadow Stamp

This project is another sample for the colour stamping workshop.

This time I am working onto glossy cardstock.  I have inked up the IndigoBlu Poppy Meadow stamp using Memento inks – adding the colour using the points of the inkpads into the different areas of the stamp.

I have stamped the flower border on my cardblank using the same ink – Rhubarb Stalk.IndigoBlu Poppy Meadow Stamp

then just a simple green in the same shades of green to finish it off.

Simple – but effective – and ideal for this time of year too.

happy crafting

Jane

Green Honeysuckle #227

Aug10This time last week I was running an all day workshop in the shop.  One of the areas covered was Sweet Poppy Stencils.  I had an idea for a card design using the Honeysuckle stencil in white onto a deep green background and so I took the opportunity to create my design ready.  I used Dreamweaver white paste with a little sprinkle of clear glitter because I wanted a more matt textured effect than the glossy effect of the sweet poppy paste.
