I am really into the blog challenges this week – another one today for The Male Room. Their theme is a masculine card on a Geometric theme – and you all know my love for Zentangling.. so I thought I would base my card around this!
I started by die cutting four identical squares from white card and then started playing with some patterns (with thanks to Pinterest for some inspiration!) (more…)
I haven’t done a sketch challenge for ages! They are always good fun. If you haven’t done one before – you get a sketch of a design layout and you use that design to create your card.
This was the sketch of the design layout we had to use. (more…)
Another day, another blog challenge! Today’s entry is for the Craft Room Challenge. Their topic is an inspirational green photoboard. I already had this project in my head – so thought it would be ideal to get it onto paper for this challenge.
I started by die cutting an oval from white cardstock (more…)
I have had this Phoenix glittered and awaiting a project for a while now. Never quite found the right creation for him – and I didn’t just want to do a simple mount and put onto a card. (more…)
Another blog challenge entry today. This time it is for Tando Creative. Their theme is ‘Come Fly With Me’. It’s not essential to use their products, but as I happen to have one of their Gothic Arch pieces left over from a previous project – it seemed to be the ideal starting point. (more…)
Today’s creation is for a blog challenge over at IndigoBlu.
Their challenge this month is Christmas in July
I started by creating a vibrant background using Alcohol inks onto glossy cardstock. I used Stonewashed, a little Stream and the tiniest dot of Silver mixative (a little goes a very very long way!)
I dotted the inks over the surface until I was happy with the background.
Next I rubbed over thoroughly with my anti-static pad and then stamped in Versamark my Dinkie Ickle Christmas Tree. I embossed it using a fine black powder
I then used the Baubles Flourish stamp to create the swirls in the corner again with black embossing. I then used this same stamp around the edge of my 5×7 card blank and embossed in silver sparkle.
I then added some highlights with silver stickles and a fineliner border.
I like the way you get just a little glimmer of the silver on the background and the mix of blues looks like a snowy stormy sky.
I’ll be using this as one of my sample’s at Sunday’s Alchol Ink workshop – it may be Summer – but that doesn’t mean we can’t create Christmas cards!
This is my entry to the Indigoblu Christmas in July Blog Challenge

Indigoblu run a monthly challenge on their blog and their theme for this month is monochrome. I really fancied creating something quite atmospheric and thought I would work with a black and white palette.
The stamp is Poppy Meadow from Indigoblu (of course!)… kindly lent to me by Sarah (thanks Sarah!)
Those of you who have seen me craft, know that I’m an ‘as it comes’ crafter. Very VERY rarely do I take more than one attempt to create a project because I’m a big believer of working with what happens. BUT…. this one took me three attempts! I knew what I wanted to achieve and that required it to be quite crisp and clean with white spaces… and I’m a mucky crafter! (more…)
