I have another canvas project again for you today. This is a 5×7″ canvas. I worked the background using a mixture of antique white, pale beige and a mid brown acrylic paint. Firstly I painted the whole canvas in the antique white, then I worked a little of the beige shade and finally, using quite a dry brush I added the mid shade brown. If it starts to get too dark, you can always add some more white. (more…)
Hello! I’m back blogging – hurrah! I’ve really missed it. I can’t believe it’s been almost two months since I last blogged.
December ended up just being so busy at the shop and with the website (and preparing for Christmas!) that I just could not squeeze in crafting and blogging time too… and then the new year has been busy busy too! But finally, I have had a chance to fit in some creative time and create some projects that I can share with you. (more…)
I ran a workshop on Monday night to decorate a birdhouse. I had previously made one with a dark steampunk style, so this time I went all light and flowery.
I started by cutting floral die cuts out of white card (I used Memory box dies). I added my little bird too. I stuck all the die cuts around the birdhouse using Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue. (more…)
I love it when I get to use up scraps. Last time I was using my brayer with my acrylic paints (I think when I made the heart panels) – I rolled the brayer onto some card to clean it and then once dry I put it into my card box.
Annette – our demonstrator on Saturday – was kind enough to let me stamp some of her stamps – so when I spotted this card in the box I thought it would be perfect to go with the teasels. (more…)
I am really liking working onto these hearts. I cut them from greyboard and they are a nice large area to give plenty of options for decoration.
For this heart I have painted with gesso first and then used a mix of yellow and green acrylic paints from Eco-Green to create the background. To add some pattern I have applied some of the colour using a brayer. (more…)
Oops – no blog post yesterday! I was running a Zentangle workshop at the shop last night and by the time I got home I realised that I had left my blog photos on the shop laptop – oh well – I’m back again today!
This is another sample I have made for my workshop next Thursday (a couple of places still available – contact me to book).
I started by painting the background with Eco-green paints and then used the Art Houses Umount stamps from Creative Expressions to decorate.
I’ve also used the creative expressions bubble stamp in the background too
the dots around the outside are Liquid Pearls – they add a nice bit of dimension to it. (more…)
Today’s project is a sample ready for a workshop I will be holding next week. We will be creating a heart shaped panel for the home using inks and paints. For this first sample I decided on a coastal theme.
I wanted to have a soft blue and white colour theme for this heart, so I started by painting with Eco-Green Acrylic Paint in White together with Periwinkle from the same range.
I’ve used stamps from the Creative Expressions UMount Coastal set. This set features a lovely lighthouse. It also has lots of little elements to build up a scene like clouds and rocks and birds. (more…)
