Red Tree #176

June19Firstly, do excuse my photo quality this week.  My camera has gone into hiding since I packed up Bury on Saturday.. I am yet to discover what bizarre place I packed it in!  So I’m having to use my Ipad to take the pics at the moment.

I’ve been continuing on with my Distress Ink playing.  Same technique as yesterday which is to smudge a swatch of Distress Ink Colour onto your non stick mat (this time its Festive Berries and Picked Raspberry and also some Spiced Marmalade)  You then spray it with water and spray your card with water and swipe the card through the ink until it is covered.  Then leave to dry. Distress Ink Playing #175

Indigoblu treeI wanted to have a play with Distress Inks today.  I  have used them a lot recently by applying with cut n dry foam, but you can also get fabulous effects with them applied wet too.

I started by adding a swish of colour to my non stick craft mat.  I’ve used Picked Raspberry, Salty Ocean, Mowed Lawn, Festive Berries and Spiced Marmalade.  I then sprayed with quite a bit of water.

You then place your card onto the ink and keep swiping it in the ink until all the surface is coloured.  Apply more ink to your mat if you need it. (more…)

Indigoblu Monochrome Challenge – a tale of 3 attempts #174

Indigoblu Monochrome ChallengeIndigoblu run a monthly challenge on their blog and their theme for this month is monochrome.  I really fancied creating something quite atmospheric and thought I would work with a black and white palette.

The stamp is Poppy Meadow from Indigoblu (of course!)… kindly lent to me by Sarah (thanks Sarah!)

Those of you who have seen me craft, know that I’m an ‘as it comes’ crafter.   Very VERY rarely do I take more than one attempt to create a project because I’m a big believer of working with what happens.  BUT….  this one took me three attempts!  I knew what I wanted to achieve and that required it to be quite crisp and clean with white spaces… and I’m a mucky crafter! Only a quick blog post today – we are a little anxious in the Aldridge household today as my poor dog Molly collapsed this morning and we have only just heard the results of her MRI scan – fortunately it seems to be more of an injury than some of the more serious possibilities it could have been.    She’s going to be in the vets for a few days having treatment so we’ll be missing our Molly cuddles for a few days.  I’ll keep you posted how she gets on once we have more info!
