Flowery birdhouse #209

July23I ran a workshop on Monday night to decorate a birdhouse.  I had previously made one with a dark steampunk style, so this time I went all light and flowery.

I started by cutting floral die cuts out of white card (I used Memory box dies).  I added my little bird too.  I stuck all the die cuts around the birdhouse using Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue. (more…)

Lets Celebrate… & win craft goodies! #200

July14Woohoo – Creation number 200!  When I decided just before last Christmas to blog everday I wasn’t sure how long I could keep it going to be honest.  Would I (a) have the time and (b) have the ideas!  I’m pleased to say that I have managed to have both!

This was the case with these two cards.  I wanted a bold Father’s day message for the centre of my cards – so I typed up a sheet of different words and messages in Word and printed them out in a couple of different lettering styles.

I’ve used my Spellbinders Nestabilities to cut out the shapes and mounts and then used a mix of different backing papers to create a background for my card.  A little Distress Ink around the edges of my card and my main topper adds a little depth to the design.  Then a finishing touch of some Liquid Pearls just gives it a little detail.
