Back with the birdy today. This time I have created a sparkling bird using the Woodware Special Bird stamp. Start by stamping your design onto your card. Cut a piece of A4 double sided sticky sheet from Stix2 to size and stick over the top of the design. Next peel-off the top layer to reveal the sticky sheet and cover it in the Stix2 glitter.
Next take your Promarkers and colour over the top of your glitter – don’t worry, it doesn’t damage your pen nib, just remove any glitter that clings.
This gives the most amazing bright coloured glittery finish – the picture really doesn’t do it justice!
Another card today with the Woodware Puppy Love stamp.
This time I have stamped and embossed in black and then coloured him with Promarkers. I used a couple of different shades of brown for his body and kept his patches really pale – using ivory and satin to add just a hint of (more…)
Back again with some more of the wooden shapes I’ve been decorating. This pretty Xmas wreath is ever so easy to do. I’ve coloured the bow and the wreath with red and green ProMarkers. Next I smudged a little stickles over the bow and then added some dots with gold and platinum stickles around the wreath. Once the stickles was completely dry, I covered it with Crystal Lacquer – you could also use Glossy Accents – but that was what happened to be on my work desk at the time! (more…)
I’m still on light duties this week fitting in a bit of time off with my hubby around essential business jobs – so my blog projects are all quick and simple designs for a few days.
I ran a workshop this morning for 19 enthusiastic ladies and taught them how to make wedge shape gift boxes. They got to choose from a range of different decorating styles and throughout the week I will be showing you the samples I made to show each technique. (more…)
Today’s project is inspired by this Pinterest Pic. This is my take on these cute little birds.
I wanted to come up with a fun project for our make n take this Friday at club – so if you fancy coming along and making one of these cute little cards – it’s all happening this Friday at Francis Rooms (more…)
I love this piece. Yes modest I know… but I love this piece!! I’ve been having a browse on blogs, Facebook and Pinterest and one style that keeps calling me is bright colours with black contrasts and that was the inspiration for this piece.
I started with the backing card from a 6×6 paper pad I had squirrelled away in my kit. I firstly stuck dictionary pages over it with Artists medium and allowed to dry. Then I painted it with gesso (a thin coat so I could still see some text) and allowed to dry. Next I took a palette knife and scraped over texture paste over pretty much the whole surface. My aim was to get it sort of smooth – but having some rough areas too – basically take it away from being flat. (more…)
Any of you that know me, know I really don’t do pink and girly. I resist preferring the comfort of my steampunk grungy artsy stuff! But… in the interest of fairness I do stock such girly items and therefore it seems only fair to have a play and make some suggestions for card ideas with them too!
So.. a new line we have in stock is the Crafter’s Companion Scruffy Little Cat ladies. This particular stamp is called Perry and she was my favourite of all the designs. I thought she would be nice for a teen’s birthday, or even a prom card.
I started by stamping in black Memento ink so I could colour with Promarkers. I kept the colour scheme very feminine and soft with lots of shading. It’s been a while since I have done a stamp that needed such delicate shading and I really enjoyed colouring her in. I plan to do a few more in different colour schemes – maybe even grunge her up a bit ! – cannot help myself!! 🙂 (more…)
Today’s project was a card order I made a little while back. The brief was to create a card for someone leaving work to have twins – they already knew one was a boy, one a girl so I wanted to reflect that in the card.
I’ve used this stamp many times for baby cards – it is a Joanna Sheen Messy Rabbit design.
I stamped both my bunnies and coloured them with Promarkers so I had one blue, one pink.
I rummaged through my paper stash and found that I had the same design baby paper in both pink and in blue, which was ideal as I could carry the pattern in both halves of the card. (more…)
I have been busy creating a card for a customer order today along a baby card theme. I’ll post up my creation in a couple of weeks time, just in case the recipient is a facebook follower! However, while I had all my baby products on the workdesk, I thought I would do some more cards for the shop.
I have had this Woodware Noah’s Ark stamp for a while, but this is the first card I have made with it. I thought I would stick with the animals in their natural colours for this time of stamping – which in itself offered a bit of a challenge! (more…)
