Always nice when you sit down to do a workshop to find your very own bar of chocolate sat on the desk for you. However, this Hersheys bar generously supplied by Spellbinders, was not for eating!… well not yet anyway! It was part of our workshop project – to make a give wrapper to go round the chocolate bar to give as a present (give chocolate away..mmmm not sure about that one!) (more…)
It was a bit of a crazy busy day yesterday and I didn’t end up getting to blog but I am back today with another of my projects from my recent training day. This time its a simple card idea from Spellbinders. We simply used an ornate die (I’m sorry I don’t have the name to hand) and cut it from the front of the card blank to create an aperture.
We then used the cut out piece to stick on the inside of the card and fixed on a pretty layered butterfly onto it. This would be a lovely idea if you have a lovely large ornate snowflake for a Christmas card – how about if you added glitter to the snowflake too?.. mmm lots of possibilities
This is a nice idea for a little gift. We’ve used a mixture of Spellbinders dies to create this cute little post-it note holder
Wouldn’t it be nice to do this on a Xmas theme too?
Short and sweet post today as i am having a chill-out Sunday, hope you are too!
As promised yesterday here is the collage panel I created in the workshop on Monday evening. I picked out colours I don’t usually go for – yellow and pink tones. I worked with the Distress Paints in Crushed Olive, Picked Raspberry and a bit of Peacock Feathers. (more…)
Back to simple elegant today. The background of my card has been embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder – a damask type pattern.
I’ve used two shades of blue Bazzil cardstock to cut out my mouns from a Spellbinders Labels set. (more…)
What… no inks…no stamps….that’s not like you Jane! Something different from my usual style today as I rediscovered my pack of toned Bazzill cardstock and fancied getting creative with them. (more…)
I love working in white on white and its been ages since I’ve created a piece. So this week I decided to sit down and rustle up a three dimensional project.
I started by cutting an oval with my nestabilities from Spellbinder and running it through a polka dot embossing folder. (more…)
Any of you that know me, know I really don’t do pink and girly. I resist preferring the comfort of my steampunk grungy artsy stuff! But… in the interest of fairness I do stock such girly items and therefore it seems only fair to have a play and make some suggestions for card ideas with them too!
So.. a new line we have in stock is the Crafter’s Companion Scruffy Little Cat ladies. This particular stamp is called Perry and she was my favourite of all the designs. I thought she would be nice for a teen’s birthday, or even a prom card.
I started by stamping in black Memento ink so I could colour with Promarkers. I kept the colour scheme very feminine and soft with lots of shading. It’s been a while since I have done a stamp that needed such delicate shading and I really enjoyed colouring her in. I plan to do a few more in different colour schemes – maybe even grunge her up a bit ! – cannot help myself!! (more…)
