Stampendous Butterfly pop up #407

Stampendous Butterfly Trio stampThis project has been created using the Stampendous matching butterfly stamps and dies along with their pop-up die.  This makes it so easy to create these pop-up designs as it cuts the mechanism for you and you just decorate it.

Stampendous Butterfly Trio stampThis simple card starts an an A4 card, with a third trimmed off and then cut with the pop-up die.  Then I’ve stamped the Butterfly Trio stamps, coloured with Koi Pens and then cut out with the dies (no staying within the lines – easy colouring as you are cutting out!).

Bird on a Flower #404

Stampendous Bird BlossomI’ve made lots of cards using the Stampendous Bird Blossom matching stamps and dies.  This little bird can be coloured in so many different ways to appear to be a particular bird, or you can make up your colours as I did.

Everything featured on this 8×8 card is on the same stamp set.  The lovely blossom is great to stamp, colour and layer up on your projects.

This has been coloured using the Koi Brush pens.  So easy to blend your colours together.

Stampendous Bird and Blossom Stamp #381

Stampendous Bird and Blossom Stamps and DiesThis is one of my favourite creations I’ve made in a while.  The stamp is the lovely Bird and Blossom stamp from Stampendous that also has a matching die set too.  I started by stamping a selection of flowers and leaves as well as the bird and the branch and coloured them in bright colours using my Koi Brush pens using a waterbrush to get the lovely watercolour effects.  I then used the dies to cut them all out – they cut really close!

Next I used the Stampendous Pop-Up die on the blue cardstock and then stamped with a bubble effect stamp in the background in blue ink and stamped and embossed my greeting (a Stampendous stamp).  I also used the die on my backing cream card too.

Stampendous Bird and Blossom StampI’ve found it is easier to cut your card slightly larger than needed, use the die and then trim to size – much easier than trying to position the die dead centre.  By using the die on both layers, they will easily match up .  Then push out the tabs you need and build up your flowers and bird design.

Woodland Forest #380

Stampendous Forest Stamps and DiesThis gorgeous pop-up card was made using the Stampendous Forest Stamps and matching Dies together with the Stampendous Pop-up Die.

I started by stamping all the animals and lots of the bushes onto Woodware Watercolour Card.  I added colour using the Koi brush pens and blended with a waterbrush.

I used the pop-up die to create the pop-up structure and then layered up my tree and animals over the top.  This makes such a lovely fun card!

Stampendous Forest Stamps and DiesI love the way that the die set cuts so precisely, and there are three different dies to cut out the one bush stamp so you can vary the shape of the foliage in the tree.

Zentangled Daisy #363

Stampendous Jumbo DaisyA quick little piece of artwork today.  I found this daisy stamped onto a Distress Inked background in my craft stash – one of my creations at a demonstration.  The colours were so striking I thought I would have a play around with some zentangling detail around the edge.  To give it a dramatic look, I stuck to just one pattern.  A few white highlights and its all ready to put onto a card or into my art journal.  The stamp is from Stampendous – the Jumbo Daisy.  Artwork doesn’t have to be complicated – the most simple designs can be most effective!Stampendous Jumbo Daisy

Feline Curious #361

Stampendous Feline Curious

Today’s little chap is a stamp from Stampendous called Feline Curious.  I have coloured him using Distress Paints.  The wood is hand-drawn- ever so easy.  Just draw a vertical line and then use your fineliner to draw a few lines here and there – once you add the colour it looks like wood!

Stampendous Feline CuriousWe’ve recently stocked in some new Stampendous stamps – including a fab little Zebra stamp too.

Playing in paint #357

Chocolate Baroque Steampunk ButterflyI haven’t used my Chocolate Baroque steampunk butterfly stamp for ages!  So whilst having my playing session with my Distress Paints I thought I would give it an outing!  The background is the paint applied directly to the card and then spritzing with water to bland.  I’ve stamped the cogs in blue paint.  I then stamped the butterfly in black directly on the background to give a guide where to place a cut out butterfly (and so the detail of the antennae were stamped and there was a shadow underneath the lifted wings).   (more…)

No Pressure #350

Stampendous StampsMy 350th blog post – no pressure there then! :-) I felt it deserved something a little special and I definitely had a big dose of crafting mojo this afternoon and decided it was time I started to add some new artwork into my very neglected journal!

I started by playing with creating a background using Distress Paints – Spun Sugar, Shaded Lilac and Broken China – all lovely and soft colours.  I then added some detail using a mix of stencils and colours.  Memory Box Heartwood Stencil with Mermaid Lagoon.  Words with Gathered Twigs Stampendous Glance Stamponto the Industrial Andy Skinner Stencil and finally some dots with the same paint through the Crafter;s Workshop Halftone Borders mask (probably the most used mask in my collection!)  I also added a few circles of brown using the lid of my paint (more…)

Purple Butterfly #297

Oct24

I was experimenting with today’s layout.  I firstly die cut a circle out of a square of card and next stamped my butterflies (Stampendous) in Adirondak inks – Pesto and Wild Plum.  I played around with a few different ideas of what to place behind the circle, but what I liked best was a sheet of patterned paper I had from a Wild Rose Studio pad – just the right colours and with butterflies too.
