I have been itching to try this technique – and finally this week I have got in stock the Kraft card and the Spray and Shine I needed to do it!
You can find Sheena’s Tutorial on Youtube – and she takes you through step by step on how to turn an ordinary piece of Kraft card into a faux leather.
My first attempt was this one – you always learn lots on the first one. I learnt not to work the water and glycerin mix into the card surface quite so much as my surface was very fibrous.
I had to adjust the technique a little as I only have a Cuttlebug – so couldn’t run the folder through twice as recommended as it doesn’t fit sideways into my machine. I haven’t made anything with my pieces of faux leather – but they will be incorporated into a project later.
If you fancy joining me to have a go at this technique I am doing it as a workshop on the 10th July – you can book your place on the website.
As you can see my next attempt is much more controlled and neater. Looking forward to playing with this technique a lot more!
