July2You might detect a bit of a theme over the next few days.  I sat down this morning to create a few pieces to blog and I got a bit carried away with one technique!

I pulled out four boxes of supplies

1. Crafty Individuals Stamps

2. Archival & Versamark Ink

3. Memento Dewdrops

4. Glossy Cardstock

All of my creations over the next few days are using these four items.

Today’s creation started by stamping onto the plain white glossy card in Versamark.  I used two different word stamps (one was French Script) and a border design.

July2aI set aside to dry (be patient – it’s better when it doesn’t smudge).  I then wiped over Elderberry, Paris Dusk and a little Rhubarb Stalk directly with the inkpad over the glossy card.  The versamark resists and as my stamps are always a little inky (even when I wiped them before inking!)… a few hints of reds added to the interesting mix.

So… I have a gorgeous vibrant dark background.. now what to stamp?  I went with my ladies and deliberately selected darker images so they would stand out and then stamped the Old fashioned girl stamp.  She was a little lost on the busy background at first, but soon came to the fore once I added some white and black detailing.

A few borders in white and black pen where the finishing touches.

I’ll be back with firey reds tomorrow!

happy crafting
