IndigoBlu Alice I

I have had such a lovely day today.  It started with a 1-2-1 workshop with a lovely lady looking to start crafting with inks and stamps and not knowing what products to start with.  We spend a fabulous two hours playing with Alcohol Inks, Memento Inks and Distress Inks to teach her some inking and stamping basics and give her a chance to ‘try before you buy’ and decide what inks were best for her – (I’ll share a few snippets of our creations later this week).

Indigoblu Alice IAs I had all my crafting stash at the shop… it seemed a shame for Sarah and I not to make the most of it… so we held our planned afternoon business planning session, whilst doing some crafting!  We’re business women, we can multitask!

I have the IndigoBlu stamp set Alice I on Loan at the moment – so time to have a play!

I started with some glossy cardstock and applied three strips of colour with Memento inks – I think it was Love Letter, Tangelo and Paris Dusk (we had a lot of inks on the desk today so tricky to remember!).

Indigoblu Alice IStep two was to stamp in the crackle stamp design using the red tones to add some detail to the background.  Next was stamping the curioser stamp with the Paris Dusk.  Then to build up the focal points the main stamps were in Archival black and highlighted with white gel pen. I decided the ‘begin’ verse needed more focus, so I drew a tag shape around it and shaded it black underneath and white on top to give the impression of some dimension.   I had planned to stamp the wonderland word as a border all the way down the side, but after stamping it once, I really liked it’s impact and just left it as a lone word.

A few tangled borders later and I was all done.

You will see a few pieces created with this set appearing this week whilst I create some samples for the shop!

If you fancy joining me for a 1-2-1 – just get in touch.  A two hour class is just £20 and I can design the class around you – what inks/techniques you would like to learn, or you can join in with one of my scheduled classes (a new list will be published later this week).

happy crafting
