Today’s project features the Woodware Special Bird stamp. This is such a lovely bold design to play around with as it allows lots of room for different colouring styles.
This time I have used my Cosmic Shimmer Drawing Inks to colour in the design. I love the way these waterbased ink blend together. They come with a little fine brush and so are ideal for colouring teeny tiny things, but one big sweep of the brush and you can colour a bigger area too. We are a bit low on the colourful packs of these in the shop at the moment – but will be restocking soon!
Don’t forget if you are local, we have our third birthday celebrations on Saturday 28th March and Annette from Stix2 and Woodware will be joining us from 10-4 to do lots of demonstrations. It is free to attend – we hope to see you there!
Playing with the Woodware Persian Flower stamp today. I’ve now created a few different variations using this stamp designs. That’s the nice thing with detailed flower stamps – endless possibilities of ways to colour them!
I’ve stamped and embossed using silver powder this time and then coloured using just one Cosmic Shimmer Drawing Ink. (more…)
It was my very good friend’s birthday yesterday so I needed to create a very special card. As Sarah loves her birdcages I thought I would create a card using the free set of stamps I got earlier this year from my Creative Stamping mag. (more…)
I’ve been having a browse on Pinterest today and one of the design techniques that caught my eye was using colour blocks with stamps. I saw a few designs where a coloured design had a piece highlighted with a raised section that looked really effective. I thought I would take it a step further and have a play with a plain flower and only colour where the blocks are.
I stamped and embossed in black my Stampendous Jumbo Daisy. I did this once on the white card I had already cut to size for my 5×7 card blank and stamped two more on separate card. (more…)
I haven’t used my Penny Black Zoophabet stamps for ages! This is the perfect occasion to dust them off and get stamping. This set of stamps has been around for a few years – and they are still available (I can get them in stock to order). Each letter of the alphabet has a character on it – so they are really nice for making personalised cards and fun funky cards too.
I stamped out my DAD word and coloured using Cosmic Shimmer Drawing Inks in nice bright colours.
I kept the backing very simple – by picking out a spot to mirror those on the letter D and as my A had stripes, I went for a different pattern on the background.
Such a simple design – but looks really effective. (more…)
Another creation with the free stamps from Creative Stamping Magazine.
This card is such a simple design, but so effective and elegant. I started by cutting a square piece of card so it would fit my 6×6″ card blank with a border mount.
The set has the most handy rose corner. I stamped this in all four corners, overlapping a little to make a border with no breaks in it.
I then stamped my dovecote, masking the bottom so it didn’t overstamp my flowery border. A final addition of the doves and the greeting and I was ready to colour. I’ve done all my stamping today in Archival Jet black ink. (more…)
Woohoo.. post number 150! That’s 150 different creations I have created and shared with you all. Now we are on the new blog you will need to visit my old blog to visit all my previous creations – but don’t worry I’ve added a permanent link to the top toolbar so you can always go and have a browse.
Today’s creation is using the fabulous stamps that come free with the latest issue of Creative Stamping magazine. They are a lovely Summer themed set this time and as ever they stamp with the greatest detail of any expensive brand stamp you would use.
These are a lovely mix of pretty summery designs. The flower corner is a really handy stamp – and I just love the sign too. (more…)
